AUSTRAC is expanding the way it responsibly uses AI to uplift its regulatory, intelligence and corporate operations and help improve the identifiers of money laundering, terrorism financing and financially enabled crime.
This AI Transparency Statement outlines:
- how it currently uses AI, including public generative AI tools for research and discovery in line with AI guidance;
- future AI adoption, where it is piloting AI for the purposes of ‘Workplace Productivity and Analytics for Insights’ while maintaining human-in-the-loop oversight; and
- governance and security measures that ensure compliance with privacy, regulatory, and national security requirements.
